Day's Narrative: Today was a day for relaxation and exploration. We met Don & Lyda Milburn and Mildred Coleman at breakfast (photos). Don is a truck driver from Michigan. Mildred is marketing the Frances Virginia Tea Room Cookbook throughout the South. After a long breakfast conversation we went to downtown Tupelo to find some expresso coffee for Neville, and met Barbara Fleischhacker-Morgan, her mother and her husband Perry Morgan at the Main Attraction store and coffee bar. Here we spent a large fraction of the morning discussing all kinds of things. After lunch Connie and I went to check in at the Holiday Inn and Neville and Barbara went to search out antique stores. Tomorrow we begin riding back up the Trace again. The weather is predicted to be delightful. We have three more riding days left, and expect to arrive in Murfreesboro, TN late Friday afternoon. We are ending the trip in Murfreesboro rather than Nashville because Neville and Barbara have friends there they want to visit before they fly back to Seattle on Sunday. © Ray & Connie Poore, 1998
