A Celebration of the Great Plains
This map shows the route across South Dakota, starting on the western border near Belle Fourche.
This will be a two week trip across South Dakota, beginning in the west near Interstate 90 on August 11, 1998. Connie will driving sag wagon. We will have our new tandem along and will be taking side trips with that near Rapid City and the Badlands -- and other places too.
The trip will leave the Interstate at either Vivian and go north to Pierre on US 83 or at Kadoka and go to Pierre on US 14. It depends on available lodging along US 14. We will ask locally and determine the best route that way.
After Pierre we will continue east on US 14 to the Minnesota state line. At least that's the plan. The only other feasible route for us appears to be along roads near Interstate 90.
