Day's Narrative: We woke to a gray, foggy morning with the wind blowing strong from the Southeast. This was a good day to layover, ride the tandem and explore some of Huron.

We left about 9:20 and rode south on the paved shoulder of state road 37, a four lane road going to Mitchell. It took and hour and 20 minutes to go 11 miles in the wind, and only 30 minutes to return with the wind at our backs.

When we were shopping in a supermarket for some fruit we discovered that the supermarket also sells ammunition. I guess I'm used to a more urban environment.

All in all it's been a lazy day.

Tomorrow is the last long ride of the trip -- an 80 mile ride to Brookings. We will be staying at the Holiday Inn (tel. 605-692-9471).
