Day's Narrative: Schedule Sep. 2, Tuesday -- arrive Munfordville, Kentucky. This has been a slow, damp, hot day. The temperature is 96 F (36 C) and the humidity is very high. The first photo is my old dormitory at Kentucky Wesleyan College. When I was there in 1956 there were four college buildings in the middle of a corn field. Now the school appears to be in the middle of town with buildings all around. I took the second picture in Winslow, IN yesterday. It's an upside down car with a dummy hanging out the window. On top is a Coor's Beer ad. I suspect it may have something to do with drunk driving, but really have no idea. There was no sign to explain it. [Connie] Like the University of New Mexico which was way out of Albuquerque's city limits when it was founded over 100 years ago and now finds itself in the middle of a large metropolis, Kentucky Wesleyan, surrounded by huge shopping centers, has had town grow around it. While bigger than when Ray attended, it is still a small campus with some nice, huge, shady trees. The only activity was from the football team which was practicing -- in this heat, yet. © Ray & Connie Poore, 1997
