July 19th
Yet another Gorgeous, sunny day in San Francisco -- we lounged around all morning, checking email and reading the paper, and hanging out with Sara. Brian flew in at 1:30, Sara went to get him and then we all went out to lunch at Valentine's, a great vegetarian restaurant. Sara drove us around and showed us some great neighborhoods.
Amy came over and picked up Lynne and I, and we headed down to the Mission district for some food and bluegrass music at this place called Radio Valencia. Neat place decorated with thriftstore paintings. Great food too, and the band wasn't bad either. We were there for hours laughing and telling lies.
Today, Monday, we are headed down the coast to see Florence Phillips (Lynne's Great Aunt) in Santa Cruz for lunch, and then somewhere between there and LA for more camping. The next day we will probably make it just north of LA. We don't really know where we will end up, and we might just camp both nights (trying to keep the spontaneous adventure spontaneous!). Regardless, we will be with cousin Van on Wednesday afternoon.
