August 10th

Monday...to us it seems like another weekend! We slept late and Lynne did some cleaning around the house. Robby went over to Quickbeam to visit his old boss Kurt. They are doing some remodeling over there, and it seems like business is still going well for them. Kurt took Robby out to Sadie's for some delicious New Mexican food... it was great catching up on all the Quickbeam gossip and telling stories. After all, stories are the most important things we get from being stagehands! Reggie was there too, doing more marketing stuff nowadays. He is still doing some lighting design too, and just completed the Lutheran Youth Gathering in Atlanta (ironically, the whole Quickbeam crew were down there a week after we moved from town!! I was bummed I couldn't show them around, but REALLY bummed that I couldn't watch the sun rise again with Danny... "I'll have another if YOU'LL have another...)

After all the reminiscing, Robby went to record some new songs with Selsun Blue at Bee's studio/house up in the north valley in Albuquerque. It sounded great with Bee on drums, but Darrell was missed. Look for it in record stores near you...

Later that evening we hooked up with Gautsch and Dana Burgy-Gautschi (of the Albuquerque Burgy-Gautschis) for dinner. We all went up to the May Cafe for vietnamese food. The service was a bit sassy but the food was great. We had a great time (again) with the Burgy-Gautschi's, enjoying long periods of pedantic conversation interrupted by short violent bursts of riotous laughter!

Our last full day in Albuquerque. Robby uploaded the last web page and reached the 10 megabyte limit on our site. We had to call Mindspring to expand the bloated, teetering mass that is known as BIOVARG. Everything is okay now... or so we think.

We spent the afternoon with MamaVarg, going to eat at Garcia's (YUM!) and driving around Albuquerque. Later on we took a walk down to Nob Hill to get some bread and cheese at La Montanita Food Co-op and some cards and things at Beeps.

Mom made Sopa de Lima (Chicken and green chile soup with limes and rice) and we drank Cinzanos. It was a good meal. We had a leisurely dinner with her and Jay and then we all got into a long conversation about art: the intention of the artist vs. the perception of the viewer. We also discussed her work in Medieval studies (PhD coming soon from MamaVarg).
