Technical Notes for Inquiring Minds

This is a list of equipment we are using on our Cross-Country Mooch Tour '98.

Computer: Macintosh PowerBook 180 (aka. Kompute-O-Varg2000), B&W screen, 10MB ram, 250 MB hard drive. Graciously loaned by my brother Jonathan for our trip. I think it has a 30Mhz chip so it runs a little faster than a microwave... not too sure though. It also has a superfast 14.4 internal modem! The 16 color screen doesn't give me too much control, so I am expecting some funky pages...We have adaptors to run the machine from the cigarette lighter in the car, so I can be a nerd ALL OF THE TIME!

Camera: Kodak DC20 digital camera on loan from my Dad. This is the same camera Jonathan and I gave him for his cross-country bike trip he took in 1997. Check out the web page here, it's the coolest!

Internet Provider: Mindspring. I had to mention them because a) They have locations all around the US, so I can dial locally from many locations, b) Their 1-800 number is fast and reliable, and c) Jonathan works as a technical support supervisor there and I want him to get a fat raise!
